Why did you become a Spanish teacher?
Going back to the track and field was a bit painful after having run away from it; however, I decided I wanted to teach Sports. Sports had given me so many values such as determination, grit, perseverance, commitment, consistency, teamwork, etc. I thought it was an excellent subject for children to learn; therefore, I studied a master in education and started working on my experience. Casually, I got my first job in England as a language teacher, after learning French in France. I really enjoyed this rewarding experience; nevertheless, I still wanted to give a try to teaching Sports. Fortunately, I got a job in Kuwait as a Physical Education teacher, and I was promoted as the head of the department. After some time, I came back to Spain, and I had my first baby. During my years of teaching sports, I became a bit rebellious against education. Life has changed so much, but education seemed to have changed so little. Something was missing, I had learnt that teaching had to be meaningful for life and even though I tried hard, there were still lessons in the curriculum of Sports such as rules and strategies that could no be taught in a meaningful way.
I was an athlete from a young age, Sports was my passion, and I was sure I wanted to dedicate my life to it; therefore, I studied a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science and Physical Education. Recurrent problems with my knees stopped me from practising athletics at a high level. At that time, the world seemed to turn grey, but it had not been long until I realized that each situation brings a new chance, and so did this. With nothing to keep me in the place where I was born, I decided to study in Finland. Since then, nothing would stop me from travelling, working, studying, and learning from each culture and language of every region in the world.
Unsurprisingly, I am passionate about physical activity, languages, cultures, acting and history

After that reflection, I needed a change. I came to notice after my own journey of learning different languages, that this is a valuable, meaningful and rewarding subject to know and teach, however many people are still using traditional methods that does not work and innovative methods that do not acquire with the desire skills.
Therefore, getting away from the traditional and some innovative methods I created Spanish-perfecto, an approach to language that tries to be as closer as possible to how a child learn to speak.
